1. The Repricer Question I Get Every Week
If you sell on Amazon at any real volume, someone has asked you: "Are you using a repricer?" And if you're inside The Scaling Society, the follow-up is almost always: "Aura or Bqool?"
I've used both. I documented my entire switch from Bqool to Aura in real time on YouTube, day one through month two. This post is the full breakdown with no fluff: what I found, what it cost me, and which repricer makes sense for where you are right now.
If you're still figuring out the broader picture of growing your FBA store, read the Amazon FBA scaling guide first. This post assumes you're already past the basics and ready to talk tools.
2. What a Repricer Actually Does
A repricer automatically adjusts your Amazon listing price in real time to help you win the Buy Box. You set a floor price, a ceiling price, and a repricing strategy. The software handles the rest.
Without a repricer, you're updating prices by hand. That's manageable at 20 SKUs. At 300+ SKUs it breaks down completely. A repricer is not optional once you're doing real volume on Amazon FBA.
The three repricers that dominate the space right now are Bqool, Aura, and SellerSnap. Each targets a different stage of seller. Let's go through Bqool and Aura head to head so you can make the right call for your operation.
3. Bqool - The Repricer I Used for Years
Bqool is where most Amazon FBA sellers start with repricing. It's been around for over a decade, the interface is clean, and it's affordable. Depending on your plan and ASIN count, you're looking at roughly $25-$50 per month.
The repricing is rule-based. You pick a strategy: match the lowest FBA price, beat it by $0.01, price above the Buy Box when you're the only FBA seller, and so on. It runs those rules automatically. It works.
What Bqool doesn't do is think. It follows the rules you set, period. It doesn't adapt to demand signals, doesn't try to maximize your average selling price, and doesn't learn from your account data. For most sellers under $25K/month, that's completely fine. For sellers doing serious volume, it starts to cost you real margin.
4. Why I Switched From Bqool to Aura
I had built a lot of content around Bqool. I genuinely liked it and recommended it for years. But once my monthly sales pushed consistently above $80K, I noticed a pattern: Bqool was winning me the Buy Box, but almost always at the floor price. I was giving up margin every single time.
Aura promised something different: an AI repricer that could win the Buy Box at a higher price when market conditions allowed. That means more revenue on the same unit without sourcing anything extra. For a high-volume operation, that difference compounds fast.
I decided to document the whole transition on YouTube so my audience could see the real results as they happened. Here's what I said at the three-day mark:
"I switched my repricer. I'm not using Bqool anymore. I am using Aura. This is the day three review, so I'm going to tell you a little bit about what I've seen happening with Aura. Is it good? Is it bad?" Chris Mangunza - Aura Repricer For Amazon FBA Day 3 Review, July 2024
Short answer from day three: mostly good. The longer answer took two months to fully understand.
5. Aura's Features That Actually Matter
Aura has two features that separate it from a basic rule-based tool like Bqool: the iDrive feature and Maven AI repricing.
iDrive adjusts your price based on sales velocity. If an ASIN is moving fast, it bumps the price up. If it stalls, it pulls back down. The goal is to maximize revenue per unit, not just win the Buy Box at any price. That shift in objective is the core difference from Bqool.
Maven is Aura's AI layer. Instead of following static rules, Maven analyzes your account data and makes repricing decisions based on what it learns over time. This is the feature that can genuinely outperform Bqool for high-volume sellers. The catch: it is not plug-and-play. It took me two full months to configure it correctly and see the gains I was expecting.
6. The Problem With Aura I Didn't Expect
Here's what actually cost me money: the setup curve. Maven needs time and the right configuration to behave the way you want it to. Out of the box, it is not just "activate and watch the margin improve."
During my first two months on Aura, my repricing was inconsistent. Some ASINs were performing better than they ever had on Bqool. Others were doing things I couldn't explain and couldn't fix quickly. I was troubleshooting while running a $100K+/month business. That is not a comfortable place to be.
I was also recommending Aura to my students at the same time. I owed them the honest truth about what was happening:
"The truth is that I'm actually losing money by recommending you guys to use Aura instead of Bqool." Chris Mangunza - Aura vs Bqool Repricer: I Lost a Lot of Money, September 2024
That was not me saying Aura is broken. It was me saying I hadn't figured it out yet, and my students were paying the cost for my incomplete setup. That distinction matters. Aura's ceiling is higher than Bqool's. Getting there takes more work upfront.
7. Two Months In - What the Data Actually Showed
By month two, I had Maven dialed in. And here is what I can say with confidence: once configured, Aura wins the Buy Box at a higher average selling price than Bqool. On a $100K/month operation, even a $0.50 improvement in average selling price across hundreds of SKUs adds up to thousands of dollars per month.
The two-month mark was when it finally clicked:
"It's been around two months that I've been using Aura and I think that I have finally cracked the code with Maven. I was able to make Maven actually work for me and reduce the amount of work." Chris Mangunza - Bqool VS Aura: 2 Months Review, October 2024
If I had known at setup what I knew at month two, the transition would have been faster and more profitable from day one. That's a big part of why I'm writing this post: so you don't have to figure it out the hard way.
8. Bqool vs Aura - Head-to-Head Breakdown
Here's how they compare on the factors that actually move the needle for your business:
- Monthly cost: Bqool runs $25-$50/month. Aura starts around $97/month.
- Repricing method: Bqool uses rules you define. Aura uses AI (Maven) with optional rule overlays.
- Setup time: Bqool is live in under an hour. Aura takes days to weeks to configure properly.
- Average selling price: Aura wins the Buy Box at higher prices. Bqool prioritizes Buy Box share over margin.
- Learning curve: Bqool is beginner-friendly. Aura assumes you already understand repricing strategy.
- Best fit: Bqool for sellers under $30K/month. Aura for sellers above $50K/month who want margin optimization.

Reserve My Free Seat →9. Pricing - What You Actually Pay
Bqool charges by plan tier. The basic plan covers a limited ASIN count at around $25/month. Sellers managing 1,000+ active ASINs typically land in the $50/month range. Pricing is transparent and predictable month to month.
Aura's entry plan runs around $97/month. Full Maven AI access with higher ASIN limits pushes into the $150-$200/month range. If you're doing $100K+/month in sales, the price difference between these two tools is noise. If you're at $5K/month, it's not.
The real cost comparison is not the monthly fee. It's the Buy Box win rate and average selling price each tool produces for your specific catalog. A repricer that adds $0.50 to your average selling price on 1,000 monthly units just paid for itself five times over.
10. Who Should Use Bqool
Use Bqool if you're newer to FBA, running under $30K/month in sales, and want a repricer that works without a steep learning curve. It's reliable for online arbitrage sellers managing a few hundred SKUs on straightforward repricing rules.
Bqool is also the right call if you're testing repricing for the first time and want to keep tool spend low while you build out your sourcing and inventory systems. Get the fundamentals right first, then upgrade to something more complex when the math supports it.
If you're still building the sourcing side, check out the online arbitrage sourcing software breakdown. A repricer only helps you if you have profitable inventory to reprice in the first place.
11. Who Should Use Aura
Use Aura if you're past $40K-$50K/month, you understand FBA operations well, and you're ready to invest time in proper setup. Plan for a 2-4 week onboarding period where you're monitoring repricing behavior closely and adjusting Maven's configuration. After that phase, Aura outperforms Bqool on margin.
Aura makes the most sense when you're running a large ASIN catalog across competitive categories and you need AI to manage margin optimization decisions you can't make manually at scale. It's built for operators who already know what they're doing, not sellers still learning the basics.
If you want to see how repricing fits into a full FBA scaling system, the Buy Box strategy guide covers the repricing side along with every other factor that determines whether you win the box or not.
12. My Final Verdict (And Where I Ended Up)
Aura beats Bqool for high-volume sellers. That's the honest answer. The AI repricing wins the Buy Box at higher prices once you have Maven configured correctly. The margin improvement is real and it compounds at scale.
For newer and intermediate sellers, Bqool is the better call. It's simpler, more affordable, and effective for what most sellers in that range actually need. Don't pay for complexity you can't use yet.
Now here's the part I owe you full transparency on: after two months on Aura, I kept testing. By January 2025, I had moved on again:
"I am quitting Aura. There are like three repricers that are ruling the market when it comes to Amazon FBA: Bqool, Aura, and SellerSnap. What I'm doing today is actually switching my repricer. As of today, my repricer is SellerSnap." Chris Mangunza - Bqool vs Aura vs Sellersnap: I'm Leaving AURA's Repricer For SellerSnap, January 2025
That does not mean Aura is wrong for you. It means there's a third tool built specifically for sellers operating at the highest end of volume. If you want the full picture, read the SellerSnap review. But if today's decision is Bqool vs Aura: Aura wins at scale, Bqool wins for everyone else.
