1. Q4 Pricing Starts in August
Most sellers think about Q4 pricing the week of Black Friday. By then your inventory is bought, your costs are locked in and the only lever left is the price.
"The best time of the year for Amazon sellers is coming. Q4 is coming really, really soon. Now that back to school is over, it's time to actually start developing what your Q4 strategy is going to be. If you wait for November, December, it is going to be way too late, right?"

Set your Q4 price floors before you buy Q4 inventory. If a product doesn't clear your floor at peak fees, don't buy it.
2. Your Costs Change on October 15
Amazon's 2026 peak fulfillment fees run from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027. Small standard units priced $10 to $50 go from $3.32 to $3.96 in non-peak to $3.51 to $4.18 in peak. The 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge Amazon added on April 17, 2026 stays on top.
Storage moves too. Standard-size storage costs $0.78 per cubic foot from January through September and $2.40 from October through December.
A price that cleared your floor in August can lose money in November. The holiday peak fulfillment fee guide and the Q4 storage fees post break both down.
3. Rebuild Your Price Floor for Peak
Your minimum price has to cover all of this:
- Buy cost, including tax and shipping to your prep center
- Prep center fees, including FNSKU labeling
- Inbound placement fee if you chose a minimal split (Send to Amazon shows it)
- Referral fee
- Peak fulfillment fee plus the fuel and logistics surcharge
- Q4 storage for the weeks you expect it to sit
- Your minimum profit per unit
Plug it into the FBA calculator with peak fees selected, then set that number as the floor in your repricer. Never let the repricer go under it.
4. Check-In Dates Shape Your Pricing
Amazon released its 2026 holiday calendar in early July. For Black Friday and Cyber Monday, inventory needs to arrive by October 14 for AWD, October 21 for FBA minimal split shipments and October 28 for Amazon-optimized splits.
Amazon's calendar gives no separate date for the end of the year. Our own rule: aim for FBA arrival by November 20 and treat December 1 as the last call.
Units that land late sell into a shorter window. Price them to move rather than holding out for a peak they'll miss. The holiday shipping guide covers the timeline.
5. Use Last Year's Q4 as Your Map
Pull the Keepa chart for every Q4 buy and look at last October through January. You want three things: where the buy box sat in peak, how many sellers piled in, and how far the price fell in January.
If the price dropped 30% the week after the holidays last year, plan for it again. Price your exit before you buy.
The Keepa Q4 price prediction guide walks through it, and the Keepa graph tutorial covers the basics.
6. Repricer Settings for Peak
"So for the first 15 days of your item, if it's an item that sells fast and if you actually win the buy box, use the AI repricer, right? It's going to try to push your price up."
Sellersnap: Master AI Repricing For Amazon Sales
In peak, demand covers a higher price on many listings. Let the repricer test upward when you hold the buy box, and set a max price that matches what Keepa shows the listing sold at last Q4.
"What repricing is going to do is actually getting you, trying to optimize, trying to balance return on investment and sales velocity, right?"

7. Don't Race Other Sellers to the Bottom
More sellers jump on hot listings in Q4. If every one of them sets "beat the lowest price by a cent," the price drops until somebody runs out of stock.
Your floor protects you from that. If the buy box falls under your floor, stop matching and wait. Once the cheap sellers run out of units, the price can climb back.
If the lowest offer belongs to a seller with three units left, matching them for a day hands away margin you don't need to give.
8. Black Friday and Cyber Monday Pricing
Shoppers expect lower prices on BFCM weekend. On listings with an active deal, you're competing against a discounted price for those days.
Decide per SKU whether to follow the price down or sit out the weekend and sell after. Fast sellers with deep stock can follow. Thin stock should hold and sell into the days after.
For the sourcing side of the weekend, read Black Friday sourcing. For the bigger plan, see the Q4 prep checklist.
9. Price for the January Exit
"The main mistake you want to avoid is doing exactly what you've been doing during Q4, thinking that it's going to translate into Q1. It's not. Okay?"
The Biggest Q1 Mistakes Amazon Sellers Make
Every unit you don't sell in Q4 keeps paying storage and moves toward the aged inventory surcharge, which starts at 181 days. A unit you bought in September and still hold in March is close to that line.
Start lowering prices on slow SKUs in early December instead of waiting for January. The aged inventory surcharge guide shows what holding costs after 181 days.
10. Stay Inside Amazon's Fair Pricing Policy
Amazon runs a marketplace fair pricing policy, and Q4 demand tempts sellers to push prices hard. Read the policy in Seller Central before you set high max prices on hot items.
A sane max price tied to last year's Keepa history keeps you clear of trouble and still captures the peak.

- Monday: check every SKU's buy box against your peak floor
- Wednesday: review SKUs with no sales in 14 days and drop them a step
- Friday: check incoming shipments and price late arrivals to move
Three short checks a week beat one long panic session in December, and the same routine carries into how you scale on Amazon the rest of the year. A VA can run the Monday and Wednesday checks once you write the rules down. The VA training guide shows how.
