1. The Short Answer on a Keepa MCP Server
Keepa has no official MCP server. If you search "Keepa MCP," the results you'll find are community projects: servers someone wrote that call the Keepa API with your own API key.
So yes, you can connect Keepa data to Claude. You do it through an unofficial server, your own Keepa API access, and your own tokens.
New to MCP? What an MCP server is covers the basics in a few minutes.
2. How Community Keepa Servers Work
A community Keepa MCP server is a small program that sits between Claude and Keepa. Claude asks it for data on an ASIN, the server calls the Keepa API with your key, and the result comes back into the chat.
You install it on your computer or a server, paste your Keepa API key into its config, and add it to Claude Desktop, Claude Code or another MCP client. Each server works a little differently, so follow the instructions from whoever wrote it.
Before you paste your key anywhere, read the code or make sure you trust the author. That key gives access to your Keepa account's tokens.
3. What It Costs You: Tokens
Keepa meters its API in tokens. Every call a community server makes spends tokens from your Keepa API plan.
A chat model doesn't count tokens the way you would. Ask Claude to "compare these 30 products" and it may make a call per product, then more calls when it wants extra detail. One question can turn into dozens of API calls without you seeing it happen.
Watch your Keepa token balance during your first few sessions. If it drops faster than you expected, tell the model to batch requests or limit how many products it pulls at once.
4. Reliability: You Own the Maintenance
An unofficial server is only as reliable as the person maintaining it. If Keepa changes its API, or the author stops updating the project, your setup breaks and nobody owes you a fix.
That's fine if you're a tinkerer who likes owning the stack. If you want something that works every morning without you checking a GitHub page, factor that in.
Also think about where it runs. A server on your laptop only works while your laptop is on. Our post on connecting AI to seller data safely covers key handling and revoking access.
5. Where Keepa Data Shines in a Chat
History questions are where Keepa plus Claude feels good. "Has the buy box price on this ASIN held up over the last six months?" "Does the rank drop after the holidays?" "When did Amazon last go out of stock?" Those answers live in Keepa's price and rank history, and a model can summarize them faster than you can scroll a chart.
Keepa's sorting power is a big part of why I use it for storefront work in the first place.
"The reason why I use Keepa instead of SellerAmp to do storefront stalking is because with Keepa it's really, really easy to actually sort all the products based on how fast they sell."

Still check the graph yourself before a big buy. The Keepa graphs tutorial shows what to look for, so you can tell when the model's summary misses something.
6. Where Keepa Data Falls Short in a Chat
Keepa data tells you about the listing. It doesn't tell you about your business. Some things a raw Keepa connection can't answer on its own:
- Profit at your buy cost. The model has to do fee math on top of Keepa's numbers, and fee math is where chat models guess.
- Whether your account can sell it. Eligibility is specific to your Seller Central account.
- What your competitors added this week. That takes tracking storefronts over time and storing the results somewhere.
Big batches are a pain too. Paste a few hundred ASINs and you spend a lot of tokens to get a chat answer you then have to copy into a spreadsheet anyway.
7. Keepa's Own Tools Still Do Filtering Better
For finding products, Keepa's Product Finder beats a chat window. It's built for filtering the catalog.
"If you do not understand what the Keepa product finder is, it's a tool that allows you to filter the database of product on Amazon pretty much, right? And so I'm going to filter the database of products for gap products that Amazon is not selling."

Use Product Finder to build the list, then bring specific questions about specific ASINs into Claude. The Keepa Chrome extension tutorial covers the day-to-day Keepa setup, and using Keepa to predict Q4 prices shows the history reading in action.

If you set up a community server, these questions play to its strengths:
- "Summarize the buy box price for this ASIN over the last 90 and 180 days."
- "How many offers has this listing had over the last three months, and is the count going up?"
- "Does Amazon go in and out of stock on this listing? When was the last time?"
- "Compare the rank history of these five ASINs and tell me which one sells most steadily."
Keep the batches small, and ask for the dates behind every claim so you can check it against the graph.
9. The Other Path: Data Already Collected, Math Already Done
The second option skips the token meter and the fee guessing. You connect Claude to an app that has already collected the data and runs the profit math itself.
That's what I built the Arbitrage Stalker MCP server to do. Arbitrage Stalker tracks competitor storefronts.
"It's a software that I created to help you track sellers, right? So you don't have to do the storefront stalking yourself. So whenever they add a new product, you get a notification."
I made $347 in 5 minutes with Online Arbitrage | Live Amazon FBA Product Research
Through the MCP, Claude can read what your tracked sellers added, look up a product, check up to 100 ASINs against your own account (BUY, APPLY with Amazon's approval link, or SKIP), and calculate profit with your saved prep and inbound costs. Most of that is free on every paid plan. A fresh Apex Read costs one credit, and batch scoring quotes the cost before it spends anything.
The profit answer comes from the app's calculator, not the model. The post on why ChatGPT gets FBA fees wrong explains why that matters.
10. Setting Up Each Path
Community Keepa server: get Keepa API access, pick a server whose code you trust, install it, add your key to its config, then add it to your MCP client. Expect some trial and error.
Arbitrage Stalker in Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, click Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Arbitrage Stalker, paste https://app.arbitragestalker.com/mcp, click Continue, then Add. Click Connect, sign in, and click Allow. No key to copy. It also shows up in the Claude desktop and phone apps.
The Allow page spells out what it can do. It can't touch your password, billing or Seller Central, and you can revoke the connection any time under AI Connection Keys.
11. Which Path Fits You
Pick a community Keepa server if you already pay for Keepa API access, you like setting up your own tools, and your questions are mostly about price and rank history.
Pick a sourcing MCP if your questions are "what should I buy," "can I sell this" and "what's my profit at this price." Those need storefront tracking, your account's eligibility and real fee math, which raw Keepa data doesn't give you.
Plenty of sellers will end up running both. To see how I combine the tools during a real sourcing session, save your seat for the free Thursday training.
